Rewards were slim, modes were scarce and it was mostly just an experiment to learn how the gear you found in the wild stacked up against other players, and to see how Halo-ish Bungie's take on Destiny multiplayer would feel. At launch, PvP was always sort of an extra appendage to PvE content, which made up the bulk of the game.
The Crucible is a surprisingly big focus in House of Wolves. The only thing I didn't get to play were any of the story missions (there are five), so that will have to wait until launch itself on May 19th. Next week, I'll have thoughts about PvE and the Raid-replacing Prison of Elders. Today is all about PvP and the Trials of Osiris. My impressions will be broken up into two parts due to Bungie's requested embargoes.
